ナッシュビルはアメリカ合衆国テネシー州の州都であり音楽産業の中心地で”ミュージックシティUSA”と呼ばれています。
カントリーミュージックで有名ですが、カントリーだけではなくいろいろなジャンルの音楽も盛んです。ミュージックロウというエリアには沢山のレコーディングスタジオや音楽企業が集中しており、ダウンタウンにあるライマン公会堂 ( 旧グランド　オール　オープリー)はカントリーミュージックの発信地として歴史のある公会堂です。多くの有名なミュージシャン達はナッシュビルを拠点とし音楽活動をしています。

“Music City USA” put Country, Gospel, and Bluegrass music on the map; Nashville the booming capital of Tennessee and center in the music industry was already marked. What started off as home to the Grand Ole Opry, gospel hymns, and Elvis Presley morphed into Music Row (a dense music business community) and brought with it a gob of major (and minor) recording studios, ready to record the next big hit or sell that winning well written song. Since the mid 1900s, Nashville has been attracting major musicians and celebrities, eager to add their name to the bill. From Minnie Pearl, Hank Williams, Patsy Cline, Roger Miller, to Dolly Parton, Garth Brooks, and many more.
